Synopsis

Found In Time is a fantasy in the vein of Donnie Darko and Primer. It takes place in a present-day version of New York City. Our hero, Chris, is a "psychic collector" - he compulsively picks up little objects such as pens, coins, lighters, keys, stones, and other detritus that the rest of us lose. Then he sells them on the street. But everything he touches has some significance in the future. The button he finds on the street today will fit the one you lost off your coat tomorrow. Or he'll find the wedding ring you thought you lost in the laundry last week. Or the postcard someone meant to mail you but never got around to.

But this gift comes at a price. Instead of experiencing life as a linear sequence of events, he slips time - darting back and forth between the past, present and future. Everything's a jumble. After seeing himself commit murder in the future, he realizes just how much trouble his gift will get him in. But can he change his past to keep the murder from happening? Can he unravel the plot without unraveling his life?

The story addresses some heady concerns — the nature of reality, the structure of time, free will versus determinism — but does so in an entertaining way.
